Happy New Year, Friends! Today is my last day in Paris. I’ve been here on holiday with my daughter. One day, we did take a day trip on the Eurostar to London, but Paris has been our home base for this trip. I have been to Paris more times than I can recall, but this was my daughter’s first time in the city I call “my second home”. Watching her take in this magical city was a real joy. My intention for this trip was to be a holiday, but I am glad that I did get some work done, because Paris inspires me so much and I have time to reflect – everything just flows right here. 🙂
This trip, was a bit of a last minute booking. I was overstressed, and felt I needed to get away. Like chicken soup, Paris always feeds my soul, which is by no means a bad thing, right? Paris was actually something I really needed. My visit to my favorite city was going back to a life I really enjoy and miss back home. What made it more special this time was sharing it with my daughter. The slow living pace, the people, the food and culture hit my reset button, so now that the trip is over, that feeling of actually wanting to go back home is such a welcome one. I feel recharged and ready to face my days with a sense of balance and calm.
We’ve had an amazing time. Being back in Paris really gave me a chance to recharge and revaluate what is important to me, like connecting with my daugher. She has grown into such a beautiful human being…a woman I am so proud of. Spending this time with her has been so be special. I hope to travel with her again soon.
How about you? Where do you like to travel to recharge? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
Have a great and inspiring 2018!
